Why Ethiopia?

* One in every ten children do not live to their first birthday and one in every six children die before their fifth birthday.

*There are over 5 million orphans in a country only twice the size of the state of Texas.

*Ethiopia's doctor to child ratio is 1:24,000.

*Half of Ethiopia's children will never attend school.

*Ethiopia is deep in the midst of ongoing poverty, disease, and famine.

*Ethiopia is the fourth poorest country in the world.

*Nearly two million people are infected with HIV and millions of children will watch their parents die of the disease.

*Only 26% of Ethiopia's population has access to clean drinking water.

Our Adoption Timeline

Jan. '10- God opens our hearts to adoption.

March '10- God draws our hearts to Ethiopia. I view Ethiopian Gotcha Day video and know that God is calling us to adopt our daughter!

July '10-We attend AGCI conference in Nashville, TN.

Nov. 7, 2010- Orphan Sunday, we share our big news with our church family!

Nov. 8, 2010- Mailed application to AGCI.

Nov. 10, 2010- Acceptance call from AGCI, our family has been approved to move forward!

Nov. 15, 2010-Called home study agencies: chose Home Study Services of NC.

Nov. 19, 2010-Recieved orientation packet from AGCI.

Nov. 30, 2010-Orientation call with AGCI.

Jan. 6, 2011-Contracts mailed to AGCI.

Jan. 10, 2011- My fingerprinting done and boys adoption physicals done.

Jan. 27, 2011- Dossier conference call with AGCI.

Jan. 28, 2011- Justis' fingerprinting done.

Feb. 10, 2011- Fingerprints mailed to FBI.

Feb. 17, 2011-With Eyes Wide Open Workbook completed and mailed to AGCI.

March 14,2011-Home Study visit completed.

May 13, 2011-Received Rough Draft of Home Study.

May 26, 2011-Home Study accepted by AGCI.

May 31, 2011-I600A and Home Study mailed to USCIS.

June 17, 2011-Received fingerprint appointment from USCIS.

July 11, 2011-Fingerprint appt. at USCIS in Norfolk, VA, Dossier mailed today!!

July 12, 2011-Dossier arrives at AGCI in Portland!

Aug 1, 2011- Recieve FDL from USCIS! And overnight final revisions of dossier to AGCI!

Aug 2, 2011- WE ARE ON THE WAITLIST!!! #124

Aug 19, 2011-We are now #120 on the waitlist!

Sept.9, 2011-We are now #114 on the waitlist!

Oct. 28, 2011-We are now #106 on the waitlist!

Jan. 31, 2012- We are now #99 on the waitlist!

March 31, 2012- We are now #89 on the waitlist!

Oct 31, 2012-We are now #62 on the waitlist!
