Adoption update: I am so happy to announce that we have now checked every item off of our dossier checklist!!! We are currently waiting for our home study to be written by our social worker and for our Power of Attorney forms to be returned from the Secretary of State where it is being certified! Our home study is "supposed to be" (fingers crossed!) completed this week! Once it is completed and has been reviewed and approved by AGCI, we will be able to submit our I600A form to the USCIS department. Basically, this is permission from the U.S government to adopt a child from a foreign country. Once this is submitted, there will be more waiting, as we wait for our fingerprint appointment from the USCIS. We will attend this fingerprinting appointment and wait some more for our Favorable Determination letter to come! When we recieve that, our dossier will finally be complete and can be submitted to AGCI and then to Ethiopia! We will then be on the waitlist!! Recieving Favorable Determination can take up to 3 months, but we are praying that we recieve it MUCH sooner than that so we can hopefully be added to the waitlist in June!
Would you please join me in prayer that the next steps would be completed smoothly and quickly so we can get on the waitlist! So far all of our documents for our dossier have come in much sooner than expected and we are hoping that our Favorable Determination Letter will too! We have two big fundraisers coming up to raise the next fees due at the time we submit our dossier, Carwash: April 23rd and Yard Sale: May 7th!
