Spring time in January!!

What a beautiful day we had here in Eastern NC!!! Today was a breath of fresh air for us Bobbitts who have been cooped up all winter inside and were beginning to get cabin fever!! I told a friend tonight, "I forgot how much I love grass and sunshine!" Just wanted to share a few shots of the younger two today on our neighborhood walk! Being outside just puts me in a better mood! (: We took Gonzo, our new doggie, for a walk for the first time around the lake and over to the "mountain" as my kids call it! The mountain is just a HUGE pile of dirt at the end of the cul-de-sac in our neighborhood. But once you get to the top and turn around, the view is awesome! The lake was just so pretty today with all the seagulls sitting on top of it! I also wanted a chance today to get outside and test out my new camera lens. I had emailed a few of you and asked you what lens you would suggest for my Nikon, and I got the same response from everyone... the Nikon 50/1.8. I love it so far other than my Nikon does not have autofocus so I am having to manually focus it. But I think I will get used to it! On the adoption front.... we are moving along this month! I really feel like in January we have crossed some big steps off our "to do" list! We are about to mail in our home study paperwork and make an appt for our social worker to visit us to do our home study report in February! We have had our dossier conference call last week with AGCI and now have our adoption planner which includes LOTS of info on all that we have to put together for our dossier! My prayer is that our dossier is able to be submitted and is approved in April!!! That means we will be on the waiting list and I will officially be "paper pregnant" as is said in the adoption world!! I am also beside myself thrilled for my upcoming trip to Atlanta this weekend for the adoptibe moms retreat!  It is going to be a reunion of sorts with my adoption blogworld girlfriends and I CANNOT WAIT! I will be sure to post lots of pics as soon as I return! But for now I leave you with a few shots from our Spring Time day in January!!

My happy boy!

Growing up way too fast!

My FAVORITE picture of the day! This will be a framer!

On our way to the "Mountain"!

A boy and his best friend! (:

On our way back down!  Such a fun afternoon!

The ride back home, they were exhausted!

Forgot to mention one more thing.... a post of mine would not be complete with out a crazy story! (:  As we got to the bottom of the "mountain" today, it dawned on me that I had put muffins in the oven before we left for our walk!!! AND I did not put them on a timer! Thank the Lord, we were close by a friends house where I had to go frantically knock on her door and ask her if she would drive us home quickly because my kitchen might be on fire! But Praise God, the muffins were not on fire when we arrived.... just a little overdone, to say the least!!!  (:

  1. I was going to ask if those pictures of them running down the hill is when you realized you had the muffins in the oven! lol I could picture you yelling 'run!' to them and it made me giggle. I'm glad everything is moving right along with the adoption. I love reading/hearing about the progress and can't wait for you to bring your sweet baby girl home so we can all meet her! Oh and I have the 50/1.8 on my Nikon too and LOVE it!! You'll have fun with that lens for sure!
