Did that title get your attention? We love cupcakes here in the Bobbitt Household, or anything SWEET for that matter! While in Atlanta at the Created For Care Adoption Conference, I learned of an amazing ministry called Sixty Feet, you can visit their website
here! Sixty Feet is an organization that is working to better the lives of hundreds of children living in a children's prison in Uganda! That's right, there is a children's prison in Uganda! While at the conference we were shown a video of this place and it was so heartbreaking!
Well, on APRIL 16th, children (young and old!) will be gathering all over the country to sell cupcakes in front yards, driveways, on the corners of their neighborhoods, etc to raise money for this amazing ministry! This new ministry provides kids a way of helping out children in need in Uganda! What a great way for our children to be involved in missions! To learn more about the CUPCAKE KIDS click
here and see how you and your children can get involved! You can sign up on the website and include when and where you will be hosting your cupcake sell! We are not going to be able to hold our sell on April 16th because that is the day of our big Adoption fundraising carwash at my brother, Luke's car wash in Washington! But, we plan to hold a cupcake sell another Saturday in April! So if you are in the neighborhood, be on the look out for some cute blonde headed boys selling yummy cupcakes in our front yard this spring! (: If you have been looking for a way to help those in need, this is a perfect activity you can do with your kids! Would love to see these cupcakes sells popping up all over Edenton this spring!
We have GREAT news in our adoption!!! Our agency emailed us two days ago letting us know that our prayers are being answered!!! The email included the following information regarding the current situation with MOWA's processing of adoptions. (MOWA is the ministry of Women's affairs in Addis Ababa and all adoptions must go through them).
At this time, all Foreign Staff on the ground in Ethiopia are reporting that MOWA has completed their staffing changes and are now currently working at full capacity to complete those adoption cases currently re-scheduled or assigned a court appointment through the courts of Addis Ababa. Our staff believe this to be around 800 cases they are working at full force to complete with no restrictions on the number of cases processed each day. This is great news! We are thrilled to hear these drastic changes do not seem to be going into full effect
Did you hear that?... "full force" and "without restrictions"!!!! Thank you to each of you who have joined with us in prayer over this situation! Isn't God amazing!!! He has heard our prayers and is answering them on behalf of these precious Ethiopian children! He loves them dearly and wants to see them in loving homes where they can learn about Him!
But... Please do not quit praying!! We continue to need your prayers and support as we are diligently working on the remainder of our paperwork in order to get on the waitlist as soon as possible! Please pray that God would continue to provide for our adoption and that we would fully trust in Him as to when our daughter comes home! Please continue to pray for all of the orphans waiting for their forever families!
We have just come in from a day long baseball tournament tonight! It is finally feeling like spring! Have a wonderful weekend, y'all!! (:
