I am so excited to say that we have checked off several more big steps on our adoption dossier checklist!!
We have completed all of our education, have mailed off and been approved for our Eyes Wide Open Book, and have our Home Study visit scheduled for March 14th.... that is less than two weeks away! The Home Study has been the most anxiety producing part of the adoption process for me so far... having someone come into your home and evaluate it and evaluate you and your husband as parents is just a little intimidating to say the least! But, I know that, like all of the other little steps along this path to our daughter, God has our Home Study in His hands as well ,so I am trusting that it is going to be a great experience!

So what does all this mean, time wise, you may be wondering... well, once our home study is written by our social worker (hopefully..fingers crossed... by the middle of April) we will be ready to mail in our DOSSIER!!! YAYYYY!!!! Once our dossier (A.K.A "A whole lot of various papers") is approved by AGCI, we will officially be on the much anticipated WAITLIST!! We are hoping and praying to be on the waitlist by the beginning of May! We have two big fundraisers planned in the not too distant future... the first being our Adoption Carwash who my sweet baby brother Luke is heading up at the carwash he manages in Washington, this will be on April 16th, so if you live in the area, mark your calendars!!! Also, we are planning a HUGE yardsale on May 7th here in Edenton. We are going to be asking our church, family, and friends to donate your unwanted "stuff" to our yardsale! All proceeds will go into our adoption fund!! This has been a crazy but productive week in our adoption journey, so excited to now go over to our "Adoption To Do list" and continue checking some more things off! I just love to see things checked off a list! (: Have a fabulous weekend y'all! The weather here in NC is supposed to be really nice tomorrow... I am looking forward to a fun day visiting my cousin and his new bride along with my brother and his new bride all day tomorrow!

ReplyDeleteThe Eyes Wide Open book was something, huh! Awesome that is completed. The homestudy isn't as bad as you think... I went in to crazy-cleaning-mom-mode... and she didn't even leave our first floor! Ha!
